WHAT THEY DO?

In Grade 8, the key concepts of French focuses on their understanding of just the basic information that include working on writing, reading, and communication all on learning a new language. In a class like this of grade 8 level, they start by learning simple conversations that made them express themselves. Students also learn all about the culture of where French came from, small details, and their traditions

In the Grades 9 and 10, French is more diverse when it came to their learning. Their vocabulary is a little bit more different as it is taught more detailed, and they learn about vocabulary and saying short sentences when talking with one another. For use of help, they read short stories, fill in notes assigned by teachers, and participate in conversations with their peers. Lastly, improvements are made by continuing to strengthen students listening/speaking skills as it is important incase of use in the real world sometime.

In Grades 11 and 12, French focuses on more fluency of the course. Students learn about continuous reading and writing as teacher’s are helping students with the preparation of post secondary. This is important as anywhere both in and outside of school, it’s essential for potential possible careers or everyday lives.

CONCLUSION

Overall, French is a subject that develops students into having stronger core competencies including communication and critical thinking. As students progress in high school from Grades 8 to 12, they are able to build on from confidence, fluency, and the ability to speak another language besides English. Learning this helps for anyone to better understand the culture of this and where it came from and it’s traditions.
