The key concepts of the subject Mathematics are to help us with our success in improving skills of problem solving, maintaining a brain function, and it goes on. Many topics within each grade are focused on for all years throughout high school, which also helps to possibly build up an interest further on in the subject that can open up different career paths.

Learning how to think critically is another huge key concept because it has asking questions, analyzing information, and making connections between number. or word problems. When students learn to view things in different perspectives for instances studying Indigenous people, colonialism, global conflicts, or how our society was formed it excerises their minds to be familiar with these topics. This helps us to understand why the issues we’re having still exist today and how history still impacts modern society.

Mathematics also encourages for students to build on their communication skills, meaning students are suggested to practice projecting their voice through writing, speaking, or assigned projects. This helps share our understanding of social and historical events in a way. It also helps us to recognize that people have point of views based on experiences.

An important part of Mathematics is learning about identity and how it’s shaped by politics, geography, and culture. In another source of education called ‘academic fields’, they also teach students these same examples. Studying topics like nationalism, human rights, and revolutionary helps us students to see how people fight for fairness, equality, and independence. With Geography, it also plays a part if role by showing how our surrounding of environments influence communities.

Overall, the main purpose of Mathematics is to help students understand the world better nationally and internationally. It teaches us with our critical thinking , empathy, communication, and respect for different perspectives. By studying the past and present mistakes, students can make better decisions for the future moving forward.​​​​​
